Harvest Feast | Opening Empty
PostSubject: Harvest Feast | Opening Harvest Feast | Opening EmptyWed Aug 16, 2017 1:01 am

The annoyances from preparing the feast had taken a big amount of energy from Björn. It wasn't easy to organise a feast that would draw people from far away from Kattegat. Especially not when Aslaug was the one you had to discuss everything with. But as soon as Björn saw the result from their hard work, all his stress dissapeared. With a proud glance on his face he stepped through the Great Hall that was decorated with dried grain, candles, and whatever else that made the Great Hall a little less frightening. It had been a long time ago, since the Great Hall last had been so cosy. He could already smell the odor from the wild boar being roasted above the fire. Servants were already carrying jugs with ale towards the many tables that were placed in the room. Tables that would be filling up with vikings very soon. During the day there had already arrived many boats from villages outside Kattegat, but the Great Hall had been off limits until everything was finished. The streets were filled with laughter and joy, and Björn could feel how the delightfullness of the feast made him forget most of his sorrows.

After he had taken a warm bad and was dressed with a blue-colored tunic, Björn stepped inside the great hall again. Everything was set up: The tables were filled with food and ale, the air was filled with music and slowly but certain his brothers started to join him as a welcome committee. Aslaug was sitting on her throne, waiting for Björn to open the wooden doors. "Act on your best behaviour, brothers." Björn said with a soft grin as he stepped towards the door. "And don't forget who's name we are carrying." With those words Björn opened the wooden doors and looked straight into the eyes from the people that were already waiting outside. He smiled, a challenging smile that made him look like there was a fire inside of his eyes. "Welcome, my friends." he spoke in general. His voice raised far above the murmur and made everyone go quiet for a second. "We have all come together today for the same reason. To thank the Gods for their generosity and all the provisions they have given us this year." Björn looked aside, to his brothers that were flanking him. "But life is not only about taking. We also have to give. So before we start the feast, we need to pay our debts." He could see the livestock between the people that were listening to him speaking. He wasn't the only one who was going to make a sacrifice. "It is time to pay the blood price." A glittering of enthusiasm was visible in his eyes as he took the lead and walked between the crowd towards the center of the street. People started to divide and created a wide circle around Björn. From a distance, Floki brought in an enormous black stallion. The animal was trembling and made the ground shiver beneath his hooves. Björn's heartbeat as well as his adrenaline rose when Floki handed him over the rope. ”Join me.” Björn whispered in general but was focused on every Viking that had brought an animal or even a person which they wanted to sacrifice. The circle became even bigger when other Vikings started to join him.

He made a small nod towards the other Vikings that had joined him in the circle. The horse he was holding was getting more nervous with the second. So Björn hurried up and pulled a small sword with a blade that was as long as his lower arm. ”Til árs ok friðar.” He growled, and slit the throat from the horse with one, fine movement. The horse tried to do whatever could save him, but there was no escaping the wound that Björn had given him. Blood ran from his neck, and someone held a bowl beneath it to catch the flowing blood. Björn took the horse by the snout and lifted his head upwards as the horse fell onto his knee to keep every single drop of blood from getting wasted.

When the horse and the other sacrifices were bled out, Björn dipped his fingers in the red fluid and drew some lines all over his face. After that, he passed the bowl to Ubbe and nodded in approval. "Please enter our house, and let's feast tonight like we are in Valhalla itself." Björn yelled out of extasy and opened his arms. A wide smile appeared on his face as he started to walk to the great hall again and drew the people inside. There were no more words needed, every viking, shield maiden and even common villagers would know why they had came together. To feast.

Note: Open for everyone.

Ivar & Ubbe

He did nothing more than watching, lurking from every place he found to look from. It wasn’t that he could do something else but that. Ivar was eager, knowing he would see all kinds of faces on this feast, faces that would challenge him, faces that would look at him … faces from which he knew they would laugh, ask questions, admire? He hadn’t much of a reputation except for being the annoying little brad Kattegat had. He leaned over his rock, looking to his mother walking by, his half-brother taking things in hand. Ivar hardly pulled a smile of from where he sat, scouting every detail of that feast, every person attending it. There hadn’t been a feast like this for a long time, maybe from since Ragnar ran off. He asked himself how much questions there would be for Ragnar … who wasn’t even here. ‘Are you gonna sit there all day and doing nothing brother?’ Ivar looked up out of his thoughts to Ubbe. ‘It is not like I can do much.’ Ivar gestured to his legs, pushing himself away from the rots he was lurking over. Ubbe walked over, placing his foot aside Ivar his legs, leaning his upper body on his knee. ‘You don’t have any trouble commanding slave on other times.’ Ubbe laughed, smacking his brother against the head. Ivar twisted his neck, chuckling before following his brother to where the feast would start.

After all day of preparing everything was ready. Ivar sat down on a wooden bench, looking at his mother before his eyes shifted of to Björn who walked in, advising them to behave. ‘I suppose that is for you Sigurd.’ Ivar reacted right away. ‘Shut up brother.’ Ubbe reacted. Luckily everybody was in a rather good mood, Sigurd could sing his way through the night, Hvitserk eat, Ubbe drink and Ivar had probably enough to look at. Ivar crawled his way out, sitting up aside Ubbe while Björn silenced the people around him. Ubbe looked down to his brother with that smug grin when Björn talked about a blood price. The people got enthusiastic about it, cheering the dead of an animal in honor to the gods who gave them such a good harvest and summer. Ivar his blue eyes anchored on the black stallion Floki brought closer. It was a magnificent beast and all Ivar could think of was how that red blood would stain his black coat. Ubbe joined Björn on the other side of the black stallion, his eyes scouted the people who were willing on giving the gods something to, making the circle even bigger.

Ubbe contained the animal at the other side while Björn grabbed a small sword, slitting his throat in a even swifter movements. Ivar looked to Floki who made some gestures with his hands and Ivar copied a part of them, smiling darkly when the horse dropped down on his knees. Ubbe took the bowl over after that Björn draw some lines over his face, Ubbe did the same, passing it on to his other brothers. He basked in the words that Björn shouted, giving his brother a firm shoulder pet while exchanging the same smile on his face. Ivar on the other hand pulled the bowl in his lap, dipping all ten fingers in the blood of that stallion before drawing the lines over his face. He smiled, a wicked one while he felt the still hot blood covering his face. ‘Ivar.’ Ivar turned his head and looked up to Ubbe who was looking him with tilted head, nodding inside. Ivar rolled his eyes and placed  the bowl aside, dragging his crippled ass back inside after his brothers. Sigurd already give every Ragnarsson a cup. Ivar pushed up on a table and grabbed the cup Sigurd was holding out. ‘For our father to.’ Ubbe said, looking to Björn, Ivar, Sigurd and Hvitserk before lifting the cup a little. Ivar just nodded and drank before turning his eyes back to the people, they had a lot to do tonight, all probably in their own way.

Harvest Feast | Opening Butterflies-4.2

Everyone is the village was excited for the Harvest feast tonight. So many people from other villages were going be visiting, and everyone would be dinning and celebrating in the Great Hall. Sassa's mother had not shut up about all the new potential marriage opportunities she would have with all the visitors. She tired to be as kind and understanding of her mother and her intense need for her to find a husband, but at the same time Sassa wasn't her mother. She had only been kissed once by a man who was visiting Kattegat selling goods, who had took much to drink and most likely didn't even remember kissing her. None the less Sassa let her mother braid her hair, and dress her in one of her finest dresses. "Make sure you talk to the Ragarson brothers" Her mother had said to her for the second time. " Yes Mother, I know" Sassa said as she tried not to roll her eyes. "Also make sure you talk to the visiting vikings" her mother said to her next. " Yes mother, I'm not stupid. I will not be rude." she said before pulling away from her mother. Sometimes she would wish she had been born a son. Then her mother wouldn't constantly treat her this way. "I just want you to have things better than I did" her mother said before turning and waking away to the other end of their hut

Sassa didn't bother trying to talk to her mother because she knew nothing she said would make her feel any better. Her mother would always be embarrassed of the fact that she had no husband to speak of and no father for her child. No matter how many times Sassa tried to convince her mother that she didn't care and that it was okay, her mother just wouldn't listen to her. " I'll see you at the feast mother" was all she said before grabbing one of her knifes and attaching it to herself before leaving the hut. Upon exiting she could see that the streets were filled with people. Feast were always her favorite thing in the world. She got to see what people were like from all over the other villages, and the there wasn't truly a dull moment. Making her way toward the great hall she could see that Bjorn was just now opening the doors to everyone. He was greeting everyone as a whole as he spoke in front of them. It was always so amazing to see how much respect and attention he was given. Sassa of corse repeated him very much, and his whole family too. He was a great viking warrior he deserved everyones respect.

Making her way even closer she heard him say it was time to pay the blood price. She watched as everyone started to divide and make the circle around Bjorn, and then more people started to join him with what they had brought to offer to the god as well. Soon the circle was gigantic, making it hard for Sassa to stay as close as she was. Sassa didn't want to miss one moment of the sacrifice. The thrill she felt as she watched the blood drip into the bowl was unlike anything she ever felt in her everyday life. It was so empowering to see the reactions from every other viking making a sacrifice. She wished that she was the one making it. She wished she had been the places and seen the things that these people had, and in this small moment she felt like she almost had been. Once all the blood had been drained Bjorn Welcomed everyone inside to party like they were in Valhalla. Smiling she slowly made her way in with the other guests. When she made it inside she saw people were already sitting and taking spots. The Ragnarssons brothers were already sitting and drinking. Before she could make her way even farther into the hall a slave brought her a cup of ale. "Thank you" she said to them before they walked away.

Taking a deep breath she walked straight and right to the brothers. Sassa knew most of them from the time she was a child. Playing with them whenever Queen Aslaug would allow. When she reached them she smiled and said "Everything looks beautiful, this is a wonderful feast you all have prepared for us" before taking a drink from her glass. They all appeared to be in full sprites so hopefully she would be greeted kindly for just coming up and approaching them this way. Most of the time she wasn't so bold, but she remembered her mothers nagging and knew she would be angry if she didn't do as she was told as well.

Harvest Feast | Opening Empty
PostSubject: Re: Harvest Feast | Opening Harvest Feast | Opening EmptyThu Aug 31, 2017 4:02 pm

Björn was the first one who stepped inside the great hall, leading all the other people behind him. His eyes fell on Aslaug, who was still sitting dead quiet on her throne. He clenched d his jaws firmly onto each other, but decided to leave it as it was. Maybe later that evening, he would go and talk to her about her not really Queen-like behaviour. But for now he wanted to enjoy the feast, the enjoyable atmosphere that hung in the great hall. It had been a long time ago since he felt that way, and Aslaug was not the one who was going to destroy that feeling. It brought Björn a smile on his face to see his brothers, together in harmony. Sigurd pressed him a cup of ale in his hand and he gladly accepted it. When all five of them were holding a cup, Ubbe spoke. ”For our father.” Björn nodded in silence and raised his cup with a little nod. ”Sköll.” he said softly before he placed the cup to his lips and immediately drank it empty. He really wanted to enjoy this evening, and he knew some ale would only do him good. If not too much, of course.

Björn was leaning back in his chair, listening to the music Sigurd played, but also watching Ubbe and Hvitserk from the corner of his eye. They were laughing about the food, or something, and Björn thought back to the time when he was younger and was able to play around without being truly afraid of the consequences. Then his eye fell to Ivar, who was watching the people like a hawk would watch his prey. He frowned his eyes, not truly able to understand what was going on in his head. And he didn’t knew he would ever be able to understand. Björn tried to see what he was looking at, and his eyes fell on an extraordinary beautiful, blonde girl. Ivar’s head turned as the girl came closer, and Björn immediately sighed deeply, preparing himself for some rude or misplaced words from him. The girl reached the table where the brothers were sitting and a big smile appeared on her face. ”Everything looks beautiful, this is a wonderful feast you all have prepared for us.” Immediately five pairs of eyes were turned towards her, and Björn could imagine it would be a bit overwhelming, even though she knew the boys since she was small. Björn never really had a band with her, since he was much more older than her, but she had played with Ubbe and Hvitserk very often. And then he realised Ivar still hadn’t opened his mouth. The only thing he did was staring at her, from over his cup while he was sipping his ale. Probably awaiting a chance to bite, like the predator he was. So Björn took the lead in the conversation and answered her. ”A great harvest deserves a great feast.” he said full of appreciation for her compliment. ”We haven't seen you in a while.” He pointed the edge of his cup shortly to her. The blood on his face had already dried out and was starting to flake from his face. ”You care to join?” He then asked and opened his arm to show the available space around the table. The night was still young and there was plenty of time to talk with people they hadn't seen in a long time.

Note: none.

Harvest Feast | Opening Butterflies-4.2

Sassa's face began to heat up and turn read when she saw all five brothers eyes fall upon her at once. She had known most of them her whole life, but to have them all staring right at her was making her blush in embarrassment. Maybe it was because of the way Ivar was looking at her. A way he tended to always look at her. He must have known she held some fear of him. She had since she was a little girl and her mother told her how Ivar had killed another child who was trying to take a toy from him. When she was younger she couldn't understand how such a small child could take someones life so easily. She had been a naive little girl back then. Her fear grew smaller as she grew older, and some of it was replaced with respect. He was very strong considering his legs didn't work. He was also very determined in everything he did. Sassa also made sure she never look at his legs at least not for longer than a second or two. That way she would stay off his bad side and he wouldn't hate her. She also knew he couldn't hurt her, that Ubbe and Hvitserk would at least try to stop him if her tried.

Taking a deep breath she looked to Bjorn as he answered her. ”A great harvest deserves a great feast.” He said to her, and it was true. The harvest had been very good this year. They had grown much more than they had planed, and there was much more food too. He spoke again before she was able to saying ”We haven't seen you in a while.” to her. Which was also very true. She had been helping her mother with stuff for a few days, and hadn't stopped over to see them. Sometimes she felt unwanted by Queen Aslaug as well. Maybe it was all in her head, and the queen had no problem with her at all. None the less sometimes if the queen looked unhappy to see her, she wouldn't come by as much so she didn't anger the women.Sassa knew that even though they were friends she was still a fatherless daughter of a shield maiden. That if the queen didn't want her talking to her children she would stop it right away.So it was best no to get on her bad side and lose her friends. Even more so her mother would be angry as well. She was well aware she wanted her to end up with one of the bothers, even if Sassa didn't care who she ended up with. She just simply wanted love, to be treated equal, and to make up her mind for herself.

"Yes I guess it has been some time, I'm sorry I should have come to see you all sooner. " she said to him before he offered for her to sit with them. Smiling she nodded her head and took a seat in front of where she had been standing. This way she would be able to talk to them all easily. Taking a sip of her cup Sassa set it down before looked around at them all. " Let me make up for my absents to you all now.she said before smiling " How have you been Bjorn?" she asked him first because he was the only one to address her so far. So she would address the others after she spoke with Bjorn. Besides giving him her full attention helped her ignore the way that Ivar kept looking at her. He must want something, but what Sassa wasn't sure. If it was something super important she was sure he would voice his intentions soon.

PostSubject: Re: Harvest Feast | Opening Harvest Feast | Opening EmptyTue Sep 05, 2017 8:29 pm

Ivar & Ubbe

Ivar didn’t say much and if he spoke it wasn’t for the good of hearts. So when Sigurd gave the cup and Ubbe spoke a little about father all Ivar did was looking to each one of his brothers, the possibility in each one of them to be as great as Ragnar was. He brought the cup to his lips and smirked for his own, temping himself in the idea of being the greatest. But that idea drifted in looking at all the familiar faces but more the new once. Ubbe on his hand drank his cup empty and looked aside with Hvitserk to a slave girl with a plate of food. Hvitserk looked over her body up and Ubbe grabbed him with his neck, in a playful kind of way. He and Hvitserk always had there fun on feast like this, it would involve a lot of ale and more laughter than serious business. Aslaug gave them a judgmental gaze that Ubbe totally ignored. Ivar followed the gaze of his mother and looked for a moment to Björn, when he looked back she was greeting a guest. Ivar ticked his fingers against his cup, his head almost resting on his arm while he secured every person that was walking around in the room, looking for the strongest, the potential once.

When a voice cleared the table all Ubbe turned his attention almost as fast as Hvitserk did it. ‘Sassa.’ He greeted her, with that half pulled up smirk of him. Sassa complimented them on this great feast and Ubbe only chuckled, knowing he hardly did a thing in helping prepare it. When Björn talked Ubbe studied her face for a while, trying to get behind the reason why it took her so long to come and see them. Giving them brought much time together it was rare to not see her around. ‘Yes join.’ Ubbe insisted on the words Björn, petting the place behind him at the table. Despite he wasn’t really sitting, he sat on the table itself, feet resting on the seat. The one thing she would never miss was Ivar gazing at her from where he sat, stone-cold blue eyes piercing right through her body. When she excused herself he bite, hard. ‘What do we care for your excused, you’re just a villager right.’ He tilted his head while saying it, attacking her insecurity, like they were the princes and she hadn’t even the permission to talk to them. His words were just as poisoning as his mind worked sometimes. ‘You always have to use that big mouth?’ Ubbe reacted right away, giving Sassa a reassuring look. ‘Somebody has to. But let’s entertain the idea,’ Ivar felt silence, looking back to Sassa. He hardly talked with her, he wasn’t that much around his brothers so he hardly know her. ‘Why didn’t you come for my brothers earlier. Sure Ubbe missed you, isn’t it brother?’ Ivar chuckled, bringing his cup to his lips and drinking. Ubbe shook his head and looked back to Sassa. ‘How are you?’ Ubbe asked lower voiced, giving Ivar sat on the end he probably wouldn’t even hear it and that annoyed the youngest brother, clearly.

”Yes join.” Ofcourse, if there would be one of them that wouldn’t mind the girl joining, it was Ubbe. Björn placed a smile on his face when he saw the girl taking place on the bench next to him. ”Yes I guess it has been some time, I’m sorry I should have come to see you all sooner. Let me make up for my absents to you all now. How have you been Björn?” Björn raised his cup, showing that he accepted her words. When he opened his mouth to answer his question, Ivar was already talking. Biting, like Björn had predicted. ”What do we care for your excuses, you’re just a villager, right.” Björn frowned his eyebrows while he looked at Ivar, Ubbe already putting him back into place. But that didn’t last long. ”Why didn’t you come for my brothers earlies? Sure Ubbe missed you, isn’t it brother?” And then Björn couldn’t hold his words back. ”Because some of the people here in Kattegat are smart enough to stay away from your poisoning words, Ivar.” He didn’t sounded mad, but he knew that the calmness in his words would only pull his trigger even more. ”They don’t want to waste their time on.. whatever you want to call what you are trying to reach.” Björn gestured at Ivar with his cup, spilling some of the ale over the table. He raised the corner of his mouth and snorted softly. No, tonight Ivar wouldn’t be able to get him annoyed. He leaned back in his chair, one arm on the back of it. He looked back at Sassa and smiled at her in a soothing way. ”I am good.” He eventually answered her question and nodded soft. It was a good thing that she had picked out the chair next to Ubbe, he would keep her talking.

Note: Short, I am sorry.

Harvest Feast | Opening Butterflies-4.2

Sassa smiled at Ubbe would was placed in front of her, he had wanted her to join them as well, and was even sitting on the table toward her. Her attention was still at Bjorn when Ivar had decided to speak to her. ‘What do we care for your excused, you’re just a villager right.’ She sucked a ragged breath at that and just turned her head to look at him. No matter how kind and decent she had been to the boy in her childhood he still had such a hard bite when it came to taking to her. Of corse she knew she was just a simple villager, she had no need for him to remind her at all. She was about to tell him so as well when Ubbe defended her to him. Ubbe saying ‘You always have to use that big mouth?’ only to be fallowed up from Ivar saying ‘Somebody has to. But let’s entertain the idea,’ Quickly after him. If Ivar had been anyone else but the Prince of king Ragnar she would have thrown her drink into his face and pushed him out of his chair onto his ass. However, Sassa not having a death wish she glared into her cup for a moment before taking a large drink of her ale. Something to calm her before she looked to Ivar again as he spoke. ‘Why didn’t you come for my brothers earlier. Sure Ubbe missed you, isn’t it brother?’ She was about to speak, most likely saying something she shouldn't when Ubbe leaned into her and asked how she was. She smiled at him. He had always been one of her favorite people, and good friends in Kattegat.

It seemed that both of the eldest brothers felt the need to defend her, for which Sassa was very grateful as Bjorn beat her to answering Ubbe by talking to Ivar ”Because some of the people here in Kattegat are smart enough to stay away from your poisoning words, Ivar.” Bjorn had said toward Ivar first, followed up by ”They don’t want to waste their time on.. whatever you want to call what you are trying to reach.” He then spilled some ale and smiled before he leaned back and smiled at her. Sassa smiled back at him when he said ”I am good.” to her. Sassa was glad she was looking at him and not Ivar for she was sure she had a large grin on her face. Happy that both brothers had decided to try and protect her from Ivar's seemingly bad mood. "Good I'm glad" she told him before leaning in closer to his face to say " And thank you" to Bjorn before turning her attention to Ubbe. A smile on her face as she reached out and touched his leg for a moment. She could answer his question, but first she decided that she wouldn't let Ivar think he could talk to her like that and she would simply be a weak little girl who hid behind his brothers.

She wouldn't be rude and ignore his talking as well. She knew if she just let his brothers yell at him with out answering him he would just get more aggressive with her. "Yes Ivar, I am a simple villager. I'm aware of that thank you. I won't be one forever however, you shall see I'll be a shield maiden someday going on Raids. No longer a simple villager. I had gotten caught up with training every time I had free time, and forgot to come see my friends. I'm sorry." she said as she removed her hand from Ubbe's leg. What she had said was mostly true. She had gotten caught up in training, but their mother had been another reason for her absence. Not wanting to over step and have her make them cast their friendship aside. Turning her full attention to him as she finally answered the question he had asked her moments ago. " I am well Ubbe, How are you? I'm sorry If my absence upset you."to him as she waited to see what would happen next. She knew Ivar wasn't going to leave her alone even more now. Most of the vikings didn't want her to be a shield maiden for they wanted to protect her beauty. Plus she wondered what Bjorn and Ubbe would have to say to this. She knew Ubbe was aware she wanted to be able to go on raids, but did he know she wanted to be a shield maiden? She was pretty sure Bjorn didn't know, she had never gone out of her way to tell him anyways. She worried they would simply tell her no, and all her training would be for nothing.

Ivar & Ubbe

Ubbe had seen this coming from a mile away, and when he looked a little aside over his cup towards Björn he just thought the same thing … Ivar you brat. Ubbe had a better way of treating Ivar because he was always around, instead of Björn, well, Ivar knew how to crawl underneath his skin. That this had to happen on a feast of all places annoyed even Ubbe. He titled his head and gave Ivar a rather boring look as his younger brother snapped in on Sassa her words. But when he was finished and Björn picked in on it Ubbe saw that change in Ivar. ‘Don’t start brother.’ He warned Ivar. But Ivar only slowly looked up from underneath his eyelashes towards Ubbe before he pointed his attention fully back on Björn, sitting up a little more straight. ‘So if I hear correctly,’ he began, pointing his finger towards Björn. ‘You are stupid, for staying around me, is that it?’ Hvitserk almost choked in a chuckle as he turned around and walked away for a refill. Björn was amused and calm, Ivar brought that smile on his lips. ‘Waste is a big word,’ he shifted his look towards Sassa. ‘I’m such good company.’ It sounded somewhere promising, in the dangerous way. But he was joyful, not looking for a fight, only the usual bantering. The fact Sassa immediately answered let him sit back, amused drinking his ale. ‘I’m already scared.’ And that was only sarcasm speaking. But he shot his mouth, for now as the girl went to sit aside Ubbe and Hvitserk came back to refill Ivar so the whole attention shifted for the better.

Ubbe took advantage of Ivar his distraction to point all his attention to Sassa and the words she spoke. ‘You look well,’ his words drifted a little as his eyes trailed her body. ‘I’m very much alive.’ He chuckled, reaching for a cup of ale and handing it over to Sassa. ‘And I’m not upset, surly you will make up for it.’ He winked in his usual charming way. Sassa was already so long in his life, as a friend that she learned the ways around Ubbe. ‘Becoming a shield maiden, that was what you were doing all that time? How did that work out?’ He asked her curious, leading a little forward so he could face Björn. ‘Means we have to test all that training time you had in your absence.’ He pointed out, challenging Sassa to come to one of the trainings the Vikings and shield maidens of Kattegat had on certain occasions in the week. ‘I want to fight her.’ Ivar said from behind, as much challenging as Ubbe sounded. ‘You are the youngest Ivar, you have to wait your turn.’ Ubbe teased back. Ivar rolled his eyes and shifted his attention back to the public and Ubbe looked aside to Sassa. ‘If you had asked I would help you train.’ Ubbe said to her before he looked over to Björn. ‘Not that the training does much if we can’t go raid.’ He followed with a smirk. Yes, Björn didn’t let him and Hvitserk, or Aslaug didn’t want it but what did Ubbe care for his mothers wishes, he wanted to follow Björn in battle…

Harvest Feast | Opening Empty

.if i die, i die
Kattegat was filled with joy and conviviality. People from across the sea walked the streets of Kattegat and enjoyed themselves, waiting for the feast to begin. Naemi watched every stranger closely, but couldn’t resist a little smile. Normally wouldn’t the young Thegn enjoy such many people at once, but it was feast after all. The Gods were gentle, and so should she.
Naemi took Helios back to his stable, brushed the last bit of dirt of his ginger skin before heading home. Her mother didn’t want to go to the feast, worrying about the little twins. She did her oldest daughters hair, new and beautiful dark braids gleam at the side of her head. Naemi smiled, kissed her mother on the cheek before leaving the cottage.

There were even more people before the great hall then Naemi had expected. A lot of Vikings she didn’t knew, a few she recognized from other feasts. But none of them she knows by name. This was her first feast she attended and there were a little nerves streaming up her body. All those nerves disappeared when Björn opened the doors and started telling his speech. Naemi nodded a few times, agreeing with his words. The Gods weren’t the only ones to give gifts and they weren’t the only ones to receive. Offers had to be made, but Naemi didn’t feel like the right Viking to give the Gods an offer. Her time would come, certainly, but it wasn’t today. Her blue eyes followed every move the Ragnarssons made, watched Björn taking the black stallion from Floki. It was truly a beauty, such a strong and young animal. Naemi tried to stay close to the circle, wanted to see every offer being made. But there were too many people for her to see it clearly. She heard the animals scream and could imagine the fight they were having, trying to stay alive. She could almost smell the blood and Naemi tilted her head, her eyes looking at the sky. A little smile decorating her face as she closed her eyes.
When the offers were done, everyone followed the Ragnarssons inside the great hall. Naemi stayed outside for a little longer, her feet taking her to the bowl filled with the stallions blood. The blood was dark red, pure. Naemi  kneeled, gently putting two of her fingers in the bowl. Wiping the blood against her face, looking at the Gods again before entering the great hall.
The place was crowded, the feast at his fullest glory already. Naemi smilled again a little, nodding when a slave gave her a cup of ale. It was difficult getting throw the crowd when you’re not sure what your destination is exactly. When she saw the table of the Ragnarssons, she couldn’t let herself pasted without saying hello. Naemi walked over towards the boys, seeing a familiar face of a blond girl. Naemi didn’t remember her name, but had seen her many times before in Kattegat. ”My compliments, the Gods will be very pleased with you tonight.” She said to all the sons, smiling when she arrived at their table, her voice calm and friendly.

Harvest Feast | Opening Empty

Björn was looking around, trying to divide his attention to every corner of the great hall. He tried his best not to miss anything important, so there was some kind of serious glance on his face. But the fact that he didn’t knew what the subject had turned to when Ubbe faced him, told him that he clearly wasn’t able to share his attention to more than one conversation. The ale had a certain grip on him and his focus. ”Means we have to test all that training time you had in your absence.” Björn frowned his forehead, thinking for a second about what they were talking about. And then he realized, Sassa was trying to become a fierce shield maiden an fight in the shield wall. Björn couldn’t help himself from looking at her body, at the muscles that were there, but also the muscles that he didn’t saw. Only by looking at her he could see that she had much to learn. ”I want to fight her.” Ivar said out all of a sudden. And Björn couldn’t help himself from laughing. A loud, enjoyable laugh whereby he leaned a bit backwards. ”You are the youngest Ivar, you have to wait your turn.” Björn enjoyed seeing Ivar rolling with his eyes and he shook his head from left to right. He heard Ubbe saying something about helping her training, but Björn didn’t paid much attention to it. He knew how his brother was, probably just making her promises to eventually end up with her in his bed. Or a pile of hay, Ubbe wasn’t very picky if it came to picking a place. But the words that followed drew Björn’s attention right back at him. ”Not that the training does much if we can’t go raid.” Björn took a deep breath and emptied his cup. ”If you would spent all your time whining about going on a read into extra training..” Björn poured himself another cup. ”..you would already be the greatest warrior I have ever known.” On his mouth there also appeared a smirk. ”Patience is important Ubbe. Just know that our time will come.” He leaned forward and patted his brother firmly on the shoulder before he leaned back again. ”You will see.”

And then his attention was drawn to a brown-haired girl that had appeared to his side. She looked at the Ragnarssons with a certain smile on her face. ”My compliments, the Gods will  be very pleased tonight.” Björn looked at the stripes of blood that ran across her face and made her bright blue eyes pop out even more. He raised his cup of ale and nodded. ”To the Gods.” and by those words he took a sip from his cup. Then he shoved his chair to the side, making place for her to step by and take place on the chair next to him. Slowly he tilted his head, trying to remember where he knew her from.. And then he realized. The thegn that was able to take every viking’s focus away on the training field only by her presence.

Note: Ugh, didn't went really smooth.. Sorry if it's a bad post.

Harvest Feast | Opening Butterflies-4.2

Sassa tired to ignore Ivar sarcastic comment about how he was scared. She knew better to play into him, that she would only ensure that he would simply mess with her more than he was trying to at this very moment. Instead she tired her best to give all of her attention to Ubbe and Bjorn. She smiled with a small blush as Ubbe spoke to her. "you look well"he had said first as his eyes trailed over her body. "I'm very much alive" he said next as he handed her a new cup of ale just as she finished her first one. If she kept drinking at this rate she was going to get drunk very quickly. ‘And I’m not upset, surly you will make up for it. he told her next with a wink. Sassa smiled at him before taking a drink from her new glass. She was use to the way Ubbe acted, always such a charmer, but it still could make her blush from time to time. Friend or not, Ubbe was a good looking man, and Sassa was not blind. ‘Becoming a shield maiden, that was what you were doing all that time? How did that work out?’ Ubbe spoke again before she had the chance. How did it work out, well she wasn't a shield maiden that was for sure, and she knew she had a little ways to go before she would be able to become one as well. ‘Means we have to test all that training time you had in your absence.’ Ubbe said next. For some reason that made her a little nervous, even more so when Ivar jumped into the conversation again saying that he wanted to fight her. She knew that Ivar was strong, that he trained often. She knew that all the bothers were strong, and Sassa also knew that they could all easily beat her. She didn't want to be  in front of them, but she also knew she couldn't say no to him.

Saying no to Ubbe would be stupid, so she would have to make sure that when they did train together that she would give it her all. Sassa was brought back into the conversation when ubbe said ‘If you had asked I would help you train.’ She smiled at him and his kind words. Maybe she should take him up on that. He is her friend, and she knows he means well. However if she did let him help her train, she would want it to just be the two of them. Sassa didn't know if she could handle all of the brothers all at once, and again if she messed up she wouldn't want to be embarrassed.‘Not that the training does much if we can’t go raid.’ Ubbe had said next, directing it right at Bjorn. Sassa made sure to stay quite when Bjorn spoke back. ”If you would spent all your time whining about going on a read into extra training....you would already be the greatest warrior I have ever known...Patience is important Ubbe. Just know that our time will come....you will see” he had said. Sassa knew better then to interrupt and interfere with something like this. Even if she did very much agree with Ubbe on this matter.

Turning her attention back to Ubbe she spoke. " I would like the help, I just didn't want to trouble you" Sassa said with a pause before adding "And I have a little ways before I'll be a shield maiden, but I'm working toward my goal slowly." she said with a smile before taking another drink of her ale. Feeling brave she looked to Ivar before saying." Once I've fought your brothers, and you still want to fight me we can Ivar." she said with a smile just before a brown haired women she had seen a lot around the village came over. Sassa was pretty sure she was a Thegn, which gave her some of Sassa's respect. ”My compliments, the Gods will be very pleased with you tonight.” she had to everyone with a smile. Sassa made sure to smile back and raise her glass toward her. Sassa was well aware that he women was talking to the sons mostly, but wanted to be polite all the same. "To the gods" she said fallowing suite with Bjorn before taking a drink as well.

She watched Bjorn move over to make room for the girl before she looked back to Ubbe. "So how would you like me to make my absence up to you Ubbe?" she asked jokingly. She was sure he would see she was just playing with him. Like how he play flirted with her.
