Just need a little help sometimes [Lillianna] Empty
PostSubject: Just need a little help sometimes [Lillianna] Just need a little help sometimes [Lillianna] EmptySun Jan 07, 2018 7:39 pm

Before her day became too busy, Jorunn had a few errands she needed to run. She’d been putting off heading into the market for a couple weeks now, because it always turned into far more of an adventure than she’d like. Einar had become the best of friends with one of the lambs, so the little thing was always following him around, much to the chagrin of their dog, Verdani, who knew the little lamb belonged with the rest of the sheep, and not with one of the tiny humans. A shouting match between a five-year-old and a sheepdog was inevitable these days, and she simply didn’t have the time or patience for it this early in the morning. It didn’t help that Anna was not a morning person, and the three-year-old couldn’t accomplish anything before midday without whining and demanding constant attention made her life far more difficult than she would like.

After getting the pair of them up and dressed, and managing to sneak away without any stray farm animals following them, the three of them made their way towards the market. It was a bit of a trek, as the farm wasn’t exactly nearby, but she didn’t mind, and the exercise would tire the kids out.

She had a basket on her arm, full of older clothing the two of them had outgrown, for Lillianna to adjust. Jorunn had done it herself when Einar was small, but now that it was just her on the farm, it was something she’d fallen behind on, especially with two kids. Luckily, the dressmaker was very kind, and it was something she didn’t have to worry about anymore.

As they drew nearer the shop, Jorunn picked Anna up and settled her on her hip before grabbing Einar by the hand. He didn’t appreciate the basket bumping into his side, but she didn’t need them darting off in opposite directions now that there were all kinds of buildings for them to hide in or behind. And letting them run wild in Lillianna’s shop would probably not be appreciated either.

Once inside the shop, Jorunn spotted the redhead almost immediately and smiled at her. “Good morning,” she called in greeting and drew nearer. “They’re doing it again,” she announced, rolling her eyes before smiling at the dressmaker once again, “growing faster than I can keep up with. Could I leave these with you?” She asked, wiggling the basket on her elbow, refusing to let go of Einar’s hand just yet. He’d get over the instinct to wander in a moment, but she knew it would be best to keep him contained for a bit longer.

Lillianna had been quietly working away in her shop most of the morning on things for all kinds of people around the village. It was winter time ,so a lot of people were ordering new things to keep them warm for the winter. Or they were getting things ready for when spring came back. Lillianna didn't mind being so busy however. Because it gave her more work, and more work, meant more money for her to support herself. Plus she was able to save a lot of it up. Wanting to be able to buy a bigger home someday if she was ever to get married. That of course would mean she would have to find a man and even talk to them. Something that she was sure that if it was the right person, she would be able to do. However, the idea of finding the right person at all made her feel very stressed. She would just let the gods bring her someone, or something along those lines. She was still very young, and had a good amount of time to be able to look around for a man, and besides she had a good idea that she wasn't so set on just having a man. Her heart already knew that she was open to more things than that, even if her mind tried to push those thoughts away.

She was still working hard on a new shirt for Svipday when the door to her shop opened up. Placing down the shirt, she stands up and smiles when she sees who it is. Joruun, a widower that she knew pretty well, and her adorable little children. “Good morning,” she hears the other women say in greeting, and Lillianna gives her a shy smile in return as she watched the other women walking closer and closer to her. “They’re doing it again,” Joruun says to her next and Lillianna waits for her to go on “growing faster than I can keep up with. Could I leave these with you?” she says to her next and Lillianna nods before giving her a brighter smile. "Yes of course you can." she tells her first with a smile before looking down at the children. "Are you two growing again? Going to get bigger and stronger?" she says looking at them before looking toward the other women and gently taking the basket from her. She would make sure to get these let out and get them back to her very quickly.

Smiling at Joruun more she decides to push past her shyness to talk to the other women. "How are you doing lately? How is the farm doing?" she asked her with a small smile. She knew things had to be hard at time. After her husband died she was all on her own with the whole farm and two kids. Lilliana knew that she wouldn't be able to handle things as well as this women was. Even if she didn't love him it had to be hard, however Lillianna wasn't sure if that was a true rumor, that Joruun didn't love her husband when they were married."All ready for winter?" she asks her next.

Jorunn watched Lillianna set aside what she’d been working on and return her smile. The younger woman was rather on the shy side, but she’d always been friendly and pleasant to her and the kids. Some people found small children bothersome, but luckily the dressmaker wasn’t one of them. Unless one of her brothers were over to help her around the farm, she couldn’t leave without bringing the pair of them with her wherever she went. It was one of the reasons she didn’t leave the farm very often. They were a handful when they wanted to be, and she didn’t need any of the villagers or shopkeepers irritated with her if they were misbehaving.

Thank you,” she replied with a smile when Lillianna said she could leave the clothes with her to be adjusted. Watching the redhead interact with her children, Jorunn grinned and decided to stop worrying too much about Einar’s behavior. He was nodding and grinning up at Lillianna happily, and Jorunn turned her attention to the array of fabrics to choose from.

While Jorunn was reluctant to spend money on herself, it had been a while since she’d got a new dress for herself. With winter coming, she thought it might not be a bad idea. When Lillianna asked her a few questions, she turned back to face the other woman and smiled politely. “I’m well, thank you. The farm is… the same as always. About as ready as I can be,” she answered with a light laugh and slight shrug. It was a lot of hard work, but she was up to the task.

That reminds me, if your brother wants to make any extra money this winter, I could use his help again.” Her brother, Magnus, was a thegn and had helped her with her horses a few times in the past. Jorunn’s parents had been horse farmers, so she had quite a lot of them, and the extra pair of hands when her brothers were busy was extremely helpful.

How are things with you? Business is good?” Turning her attention to her five year old for a moment, she saw he was playing with a string of beads. “Einar, we don’t touch things that don’t belong to us,” she admonished quietly, but winked at him when he took his hands away immediately. At least he listened to her, most of the time. Anna didn’t particularly care for her mother’s thoughts or opinions yet. Especially when they were accompanied by the word ‘no’.

Lillianna smiles and nods her head when she hears her friend say “Thank you,” to her. She was always glad to help people out of she could. It was her job as a dressmaker to make all her customers happy besides as a friend it was even more her job to make sure Jorunn was happy. She knew having two small kids on her own like that had to be hard, and it made her respect the older women a lot for all her hard work. For being so strong and being able to handle everything that had happened to her in life. Being forced to marry because her father wanted her safe, and then everything that had happened to her sister too. Lillianna had always liked Throa, but understood why she left the way she did. Having a horrible husband the way she did. At least the women in front of her, her husband may have died. However she was pretty sure he was a good man to her, even if they shared little love together. “I’m well, thank you. The farm is… the same as always. About as ready as I can be,” she hears Jorunn say to her next after she asked her about the farm. She was glad things were well. "Good, I am glad to hear so." she says to her in return.

Jorunn spoke to her again. “That reminds me, if your brother wants to make any extra money this winter, I could use his help again.” she said and Lillianna nodded her head at her smiling. She would make sure to tell her brother, for she knew he liked to help and earn some extra money here and there. So he could buy things. Granted she had no idea what he had to buy for himself. She made his clothes for free, and their father still payed for his other things, or at least she thought he did. Seeing as their father was still offering her money as well. Even though she told him often she didn't need it. "Oh thank you, I'll make sure to tell him tonight so I don't forget. I know he enjoys helping you." she says to her with a shy smile. “How are things with you? Business is good?” Jorunn asked her next and she smiled more. Feeling less and less shy around her as they spoke. "Things are going well, thank you for asking. My business is busy this time of year, so that is helpful too." she says to her next.

Lillianna was so focused on talking she didn't notice her son was touching things until she heard her say “Einar, we don’t touch things that don’t belong to us,” to him. She smiles and shakes her head, but doesn't address anything or say anything. It was not her child to her place, even if she didn't mind if her son was touching things. As long as he didn't break anything she didn't mind. "So do you need anything else other then these let out more, or can I make you some new clothes as well? I'll give you a discount on account that you work hard and deserve it" she says to her with a sweet smile before blushing and adding."but don't feel pressured, I would never want to make someone feel the need to buy more things." she adds in to her before looking away in embarrassment. Not wanting to come off as rude.
