Nature was such a beautiful sight, seeing how the grass danced against the breeze of the afternoon, caused a smiled to touch the young beauty lips. Eldora was on a mission to seek out and find a lavender as it is an antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory chemicals; it can soothe the soul and alleviate pain. She hummed softly to herself allowing her blue eyes to scan the ground for the purple flower. But that was not the only flower or herb that Eldora was looking for she had remembered her grandmother telling her, that rosemary was good for pain as well, however the one plant she was really hoping to find was white willow, her grandmother told her it was from Eir herself. White willow would help any man women or child; whom suffered from a mere headache to Reduces Arthritis and Osteoarthritis Pain to soothe back pain to helping women cope with there monthly pains.

Bilberry berries, bilberry leaves birch leaves, bark, Labrador tea, moss, juniper berries. Eldora glanced down at her basket and smiled to herself, the Gods were good and gracious towards her. They gave her the means to help others and Eldora knew that was her calling to help others. She had bent when she had saw some Lavender growing at the bottom of an oak tree, Eldora sat down on her knee and began to pluck the flowers from the root one by one till she had a nice banquet, using some small rope, she carefully tied the flowers together but froze suddenly, as if she sensed she was being watched, her body perked up as she scanned her surroundings, nothing no one was around.

Eldora slowly stood up from the grass and strolled through a meadow, she smiled to herself truly at peace, glancing down at the different colours flowers, Eldora eyes caught sight of St John Wort, helping those who have depression and stops bleeding. Oh yes she had hit the jack pot here! she was finding almost everything she had set out for! From Blue Vervain which often is used as a it was used to help swelling parts of the body and cause a good colour in the face and body. It was also used as a tranquilizer. Dandelion  has a milky latex which Eldora often used as a mosquito repellent and remedy to treat warts."Now to find that white willow..." She mumbled to herself dusting down her dress, she headed towards a river,
white willow often are found growing on wet soil near banks of river, walking near the stream Eldora pulled out her dagger from her basket. This was going to take her a long time.

"Why didn't I just bring a axe with me?..." Shaking her head at her stupidity, sometimes Eldora does worry about, herself because she knew that willow trees can be difficult to cult done and she just simply brought a dagger! Ha. Time went off and Eldora groaned out in frustration. "Why must this be so difficult!" Eldora throw down her dagger on the ground next to her basket and grasped onto the branch, she started to pulled and pulled at it hoping it would, Ignoring the fact that she was inching near the edge of the stream or river. Eldora grinned happily feeling the branch weaken, her head snapped in the direction on something coming in her way, before Eldora had time to see whom it was, she found herself greeting the cold crisp water, she surface and frowned seeing a rather cute guy staring at her."Instead of grinning like a fool, you could help me out of here." She huffed clearly annoyed by the smile on his lips.

If I had a heart I could love you ,
If I had a voice I would sing.

It was typical Ivar to stay around Floki as the old man build him something to go raid with. Ever since Ubbe brought the raid up Ivar was hot headed, eager on showing everybody that he was a son of Ragnar and had equally as much right to go on a raid if he wanted that. But crawling wouldn’t be an option so he came to Floki. And now he was sitting in the sand with those critical blue eyes and a slightly tilted head as Ivar tried on figuring out what the foolish man was making for him. His had found one of Floki his tools, sharpening his dagger with them as he followed Floki around on the beach. His fingers stroke over the surface of his fathers dagger, treating it with the at most care before pointing his attention back to Floki. But the longer he looked, the less he understood from out of the construction that wasn’t even a thing yet. So he turned around, dragging his body out of the place, muttering something about; tell me when it is ready.

It was cold, days became colder, the furs felt heavy on his shoulder as he dragged his body the usual way back to Kattegat. It was quite the crawl, but he arms were used to so much more that he hardly felt it in his shoulders as he followed the drag marks in the dirt of his previous crawl. He passed a water stream, not planning on going there until a voice made him aware that he wasn’t there alone. He stopped, turning his head while his deep blue eyes scanned the surroundings for whatever that was talking, a girl, by the sound of it.

It didn’t took him long to find it, a girl crouched down at the water stream trying on … he squeezed his eyes together, almost lurking from behind the tree. Ivar had a really scary way of getting around people, stalking, watching, threatening. She didn’t had much friends, otherwise you didn’t talked to yourself in that kind of way. He saw it happen before she saw it coming an he grabbed a branch, breaking it in to what startled her, loosing her balance right into the water. That was satisfaction, it had to be really cold. With that grin on his lips he looked at her, mocking her for her stupidity when she crossed his eyes and looked at him. His eyebrows raised on her words. ‘You must be pretty stupid to think I’m a fool.’ He stated, his voice flat, without to much of emotions. His eyes grew darker when she asked for help and he tilted his head, an equally dark smile matching his eyes. ‘And why would I do that, hmm?’ He mocked. Like he was planning on helping her, she was nobody in the eyes of Ivar The Boneless.

Eldora stared up at him, there was something about him perhaps it was those bright blue eyes of his or perhaps it was the look deep within them. Though he had obviously trained his facial expressions well, to not show or give off any emotions, but what this young man doesn't seem to understand is usually, the most emotionless person, usually are the most emotionally sensitive person. Eldora swam to the shore and tried to pull herself up, luckily she hadn't dropped the white willow, she had fought so hard to obtain, her brow rose at his words. She neared him and looked up at him from the water. Eldora shivered and throw her white willow branch near her basket and knew she needed to move around to make the blood circulate around her body.

"Thinking and saying you are something are two different things. Are they not?.. I did not imply you are a fool just merely your actions display that of a fool." Eldora gave the man a confused looked, for a moment she didn't hear what he was saying to her. Eldora pulled herself up the edge and sat by the stranger, she glanced down at his legs and then to his face."I can take the pain away, that you carry with you everyday. not in here." She gently poked his forehead."But in here.." She pointed to his heart and gave him a soft smile before shivering.

Standing to her feet Eldora glanced around for her danger and picked it up, she need to make a fire and quick or she will catch her death. It was cold and stupidly enough she didn't bring her fur cloak with her. Eldora found a few broken branches and piled them ever so slightly away from where the stranger stand, placing some dry moss by the branches, she searched for two rock and just like that, she smiled against the warmth."What tis your name? Surely I cannot keep talking too you without you given me your name." She murmured quietly, piling some more branches on top of the fire, Eldora actually would do best to strip herself of her dress and ask the stranger for his cloak but, that wouldn't be highly likely as he seemed too reserved and cold.

She continued to tremble as she sat on the ground some more, placing her hands out infront of her. she glanced cross to the young man and wondered if he actually believed her words. "You doubt my words, dont you?... I can hardly blame you but let me tell you something. The gods favour you, just because you are a cripple, shows you that the gods have chosen you. I know this to true. because I-I to have a deformity..." She whispered to him quietly and sighed deeply, Eldora preferred it when people was either sat infront of her or on her right side of her body, so that she can whom ever was talking to her properly. Eldora glanced at the sky, the sun was setting painting the skies above them a beautiful pinky orange and red colour.

If I had a heart I could love you ,
If I had a voice I would sing.

How foolish the picture was, her falling into the water because she startled from a crack in her surroundings. And this had to be … by the looks of the herbs, a healer? Somebody who would face as much blood as the Vikings themselves did? Somebody who would be around battle all the time? And then she startles from a crack. Ivar certainly was pretty amused by the sight of her swimming back to sure, knowing she would be out there for two seconds before the cold would tear her apart. And here he sat, doing no effort or what so ever to high his smirk, or to help her. Not that he could. So he just stayed there, dry under a layer of fur enjoying the sight of her freezing body already.

When she started to talk, sounding all wise and things he rolled his eyes dramatically. He hated it when people talked to much, it made him remind of Ylva who did the same thing way to often. He didn’t need much to be annoyed, her much talking and the fact she spoke so wisely made him already that. But then she said something that died the spotting grin right of his face. Ivar had that look, the look with his cold stone blue eyes and that urging feeling to tear her apart more then the cold would to. As she poked his forehead he slapped it away. ‘Who are you to judge.’ He said on a very lowkey tone. ‘You love to have all the answers right, healers always do. If you not pay enough attention the answers will bite you back.’ He warned her, not liking one bit of the fact she immediately stated to his legs like this.

She stood up, walking away from him as she started to warm herself up, which wouldn’t work without a fire. At least she was that smart. Ivar looked back to the way he came from but her words pulled him right out of that thought. ‘I will decide how long you will talk like that.’ He snapped back. If she was a healer out of Kattegat … and she didn’t knew him, what a poor life she was living to not know a son of Ragnar by sight? Certainly when it was Ivar, the only well know cripple Kattegat had. ‘You must been new then, if you don’t know me,’ his fingers tapped on a rock, looking how she started the fire with ease. ‘if not I should suggest to talk a little less to the plants and a little more to the people.’ He mocked her, turning his body while starting to crawl away. She could die in cold on her own, he wouldn’t be here if it happened or unless he could swing the axe, silencing her judgement right away. But her words stopped him and he rolled his eyes while turning around, sitting up again. Her words didn’t do much on the moment, he would be thinking about it afterward but it the moment he was to wrapped up in his annoyance to pay attention to it. ‘And let me tell you something.’ He said. ‘I don’t care what kind of deformity you have, given you can walk, see and hear it is hardly something I can imagine. If the gods gracefully surround you with their advise then tell me,’ he felt silent, giving her a wicked smiled. ‘What do they have in store for you?’ He asked, mocking her still. ‘Surly they won’t want you to freeze to dead here.’ He chuckled while turning himself back around to crawl away.

He certainly was an angry person wasn't he, just by the way he changed his facial expression or by the way his eyes held that stone cold glare, Eldora wondered why he was so angry. She smiled slightly at young man when he had slapped her hand away. "I don't have all the answers, for if I did. I would be more careful with my words to people, I don't know and I am not judging you. Why must you assume kindness for judgement hm? Why are you so defensive?.." She asked him quietly, trembling as she held her white fingers to be warmed against the fire. Eldora watched as the flames danced around for a while, she didn't hear Ivar next lot of smart remarks or comments, because Eldora didn't hear anything. A slight buzz or muffle when she had felt his cold gaze upon her, she slowly moved her eyes to meet his.

Whenever she spoke to Ivar, he did very little to hide his dislike of her. He told her not to judge and here he was rolling his eyes at anything she said, it wasn't nice nor respectful. But Eldora suppose he was a rather bitter soul, being a cripple in there society and culture, was the worse for they were viewed as nothing. Everything in Viking society was about glory, honour, battle and it you were seen as a liability then the respect you seeked would be damn near nothing. You would possibly become invisible. "Hm?... I am sorry did you say something?.." She asked cocking her head to the side, Eldora blinked confused when she had saw Ivar turning his body while starting to crawl away.

She was even more confused when he suddenly stopped turning to face her. Granted he shouldn't care what issues she has with her body but that doesn't mean to say he is the only person in Kattegat who is suffering, Ivar hasn't the slightest clue, most people issue are internal in the village some have external issue, through losing an arm or an eye in battle. "And who are you to judge? You don't know me. Indeed you cannot imagine my deformity." She rolled her eyes at him, almost sad that someone can be that callous with there first encounter with a stranger.

Eldora sighed deeply and turned her gaze away from Ivar ignoring him til he mentioned something about the gods."The Gods wish for me to come on the next raid to new lands, but this shall be a different raid, it shall be our raid no other king or Earl just us against the world, My duty is to help the warriors by any means and not to be so kind to strangers...even if they are royalty." She shrugged her shoulders whilst standing up to her feet and chuckled at Ivar last words to her.

"The gods wouldn't let such a fate to befall me so soon, they have many task for these hands.." Eldora bend down to pick up her basket of herbs, she quickly checked if she had everything and started walking in the direction of the village, she didn't bother saying farewell or good bye to Ivar, seeing as the two were going to be walking in the same direction, casually humming a soft tune whilst she strolled passed Ivar. Swinging her basket against the winter breeze. Tonight was certainly interesting the young blonde, glanced up at the dimming sky, it was beautiful.

If I had a heart I could love you ,
If I had a voice I would sing.

All those questions out of her mouth, if she knew him better she would know he never answered a question unless he wanted to. His blue eyes roamed over her body as she got out of the water, the dress sticking to her body. He wondered if all girls and women were so talky, like they had to explain every little detail, every little act, like they really owned him an explanation for everything. ‘There is no kindness in the world I live.’ He said, not answering any of her question, still, he explained his point of view with that. Ivar grew up a cripple, he was used on people being judgmental. Everybody disliked him so he disliked everybody in return. In a way he took everything the wrong way, for that he was critical, angry and short tempered because everybody judged. There were hardly people kind to him, or compassioned about his disability and he loved to keep it that way. When he made his move to leave he asked if he said something and he rolled his eyes, looking over his shoulder to her. Turning back around his eyebrows went up amused as she went a little in defense on his words. ‘Hmm.’ He chuckled amused, cocking his head to the side. ‘No I can’t.’ He said, being honest for a second there. ‘You want the attention so badly, good,’ he said himself up straight, dragging his feet before him. ‘speak up. Tell me, what is bugging you?’ He asked sarcastically sweet. If he had a disability he could hide you wouldn’t see him talking about it, but he couldn’t hide it, he had to drag his crippled legs every day behind him. ‘Surly it is a life or dead disability, seeing how nicely you walk and look around.’ He followed. He was sharp edged, he wouldn’t need much to get angry, she was just driving him insane and that clearly to see in his blue annoyed eyes.

She knew about the raid … offcourse she did, everybody did. In years there wasn’t a raid, everybody hoping for Ragnar to return home and lead his people back over the ocean to new lands. But Ragnar never came and Aslaug couldn’t hold her sons back any longer. Ubbe was eager, Hvitserk, even Ivar. He knew he couldn’t go, but thanks to Floki he would prove whole Kattegat that even a cripple can go on such a journey. When she talked he slowly studied her face, gods always were a sensitive topic to him. ‘And how did those gods show you that?’ He asked with a slow smirked. ‘You saw them, they come to you?’ He followed. The gods were everywhere, he believed that. She stood up and Ivar slowly followed her movements as she collected everything under the soft set down from the sun. ‘If you say so.’ He chuckled, following her body as she walked past him back to the village. He thought about just sitting here and wait for the darkness, but why not following and finding out who she really was? So he turned his body, hands dragging his body forward as he crawled behind her, blue eyes on her like he was watching his pray.

Did he find her interesting or annoying, Eldora wasn't exactly sure since she could not read him that well. The wall he had built up was something that stems from years of resentment and envy, any half decent person whom even thought of coming near him would probably be met with a glare or a cold look followed by a rude remark. Which of course was meant to cause harm and pain, they the pain he carries with him everyday. Eldora rose a brow at his words, no kindness in his world? "What do you mean, no kindness in your world?. Perhaps if you weren't so angry, you would have more friends and more kindness in your world." She muttered, casually shrugging her shoulders as she continued to rub her hands together to circulate warmth around her body.

Silence decensed the two of them, Eldora pale blue eyes glanced up when she heard his response to knowing about her deformativey ‘No I can’t.’ He said, being honest for what seemed like a second, but Eldora wasn't sure what to make of this man, he hasn't even told her his name but it didn't exactly take her long to put to and two together and know that this cripple man whom sat before her, was one of Ragnar sons, a prince of Kattaget. You want the attention so badly, good. he said himself up straight, dragging his feet before him. Eldora continued to stare at Ivar. ‘speak up. Tell me, what is bugging you?’ She couldn't help yet feel like he was finagle her, showing her that, he was intrigued to know about what is bothering her when in fact, he couldn't really care about her.

"And why would I do that?, would you truly care if I told you about what is bothering me? She challenged him, after Eldora had collected her things, she vaguely heard his words regarding her disability but wasn't quite sure if that was what she truly heard. Either way, she was freezing and need to get home as soon as possible. ‘And how did those gods show you that? You saw them, they come to you?’ Eldora glanced over to Ivar and smiled. "How do the gods come to you? She decided to flip the script and ask him, seeing as how he was mocking her as she moved to walk about from the cripple young man, She could faintly hear the sound of his dragging legs behide her, which meant he was following her but Eldora paid no attention to him.

Humming a sweet tune as her body continued to shake and tremble against the harsh winter breeze, it wasn't long before Eldora's house came into view. A smile touched her lips as she walked ever close to her door, Eldora still could feel his piercing eyes upon her back and sighed when she had opened her door and left it opened."Make yourself comfortable." She muttered, placing her basket of herbs down on a countertop near the windows. moving further into her house, her mother wasn't in and with the sound of the door being closed, she took off her shoes, there was a sheer curtain that separates the bedroom to the living room and stripped herself of her wet dress, her back facing him, her naked body could be seen rather clearly through the curtains. Eldora quickly placed on a lilac dress and placed her cloak with thick fur was sure to warm her body quickly. "......"Eldora hasn't ever had anyone in her house before, so this was new for her. Grabbing a cloth to try and dry her golden locks, she quickly wrapped her hair up and looked over to Ivar as she stepped through the curtains blinked when she had noticed that he had not accepted her invitation to come inside her house.

If I had a heart I could love you ,
If I had a voice I would sing.

No kindness, no love … it did things to the people. Ivar was born in a world like that, because he was a cripple, somebody who shouldn’t be alive, who wasn’t worth living. His father tried killing him … many would follow, in his eyes the gods granted him something that moment, they still did, making him distant and cold for a reason, but deep down as vulnerable as a young spring flower. When Eldora stated he should be more kind he looked up with that flat neutral face. ‘You know nothing.’ He reacted on that, sharp. He was born in the judging eyes, no kindness for him when he was just a little boy, why would he return that favor? He could be, his eyes traveled down to the water for a moment, thinking about the few people he could really open up to, Floki, Ylva, Ubbe maybe … She had no right on judging him for she didn’t knew him.

In a way she kept pushing, telling him about a disability without no details and Ivar couldn’t leave the amusement out as he asked her what was bothering her, like he cared. And she guessed right that, he started chuckling, nodding his head in approval before pointing his finger over to her. ‘You have at least that right.’ He said, cocking his head a little to the side, shrugging. ‘I don’t care.’ He repeated her guesses out loud, to be sure she certainly got it. He took a really deep frustrated breath as she moved in the same way he did. So he had to follow her in order to get back home, which he didn’t approve of, still he dragged his body behind her, annoyed about her question. He left out a blunt laugh, shaking his head. ‘In whatever way they want it.’ He returned back. Ivar was a true believer to the gods, because of Floki. So he believed generally that if the gods wanted him to know something they would know. More she didn’t get.

The humming sound she made did him clench his teeth. Still he kept his patience all the way back to Kattegat, until the houses showed up, apparently one was hers. She stepped inside, muttering something about making it himself at home … like he was ever planning on doing that. He stopped his body in the middle of the street and looked inside for a second, shaking his head … clearly she didn’t know him. Somebody else would gracefully accept her generosity, her hospitality but not Ivar, that wasn’t just hem. He held everybody on a big distant, even if he wanted to get closer. Again he had to think about Ylva and he grunted, pushing the thoughts away as his eyes set on the curtain she was behind, seeing as she pulled of that dress … everybody walking by could see it from where he rested still on the street. ‘Don’t forget to close the door, not all men are as,’ he paused, pressing his tongue against his teeth before continuing. ‘kind as I am.’ He followed as she showed up again. Returning her first words back about being nice and kind. He started dragging his body further over the street back to the great hall were he was known for a change, where he could indeed make it himself comfortable.

PostSubject: Re: The Weird and Wonderful -- Ivar Ragnarsson The Weird and Wonderful -- Ivar Ragnarsson EmptySat Mar 10, 2018 8:39 pm

There's was something intriguing about Ivar, the crippled Prince of Kattegat, he had this anger inside him that made a lot of people fear him and if was odd to Eldora, she just wanted to understand why he was angry all the time?, was it because he was a cripple and in their society, he is seen as less as a warrior let alone a Viking, but Elora wondered if he blamed the God's for that? but surely not she thought as she wondered back to Kattegat, they had favoured him for some reason. Like his father he was destined for greatness and that was something that no one would see coming not even the cripple prince who dragged his body behind her. However Eldora dislike the thought of him not liking her for no reason, they had just met and yet, he has made it damn near impossible for her to even try to get too know him, but then again, it wasn't like she was about to be subjected to his games; as she made it clear many times over in there conversation.

Eldora sighed deeply when she entered her house, she assumed that Ivar had followed her inside out her house but he didn't, he stayed firmly outside, whilst she unchanged herself. Eldora cared not for people seeing her naked body as nudity was seen as beauty in the purest form in there society. As Eldora wondered back to her front door, now dressed. She was surprised to see Ivar was still there sat in the road as if he didn't care that his body was obstructing people, leaning against her door frame she cocked her head to the side. ‘Don’t forget to close the door, not all men are as.’ Eldora rose an eyebrow at the cripple prince as if she didn't exactly follow where his words were going. ‘kind as I am.' She gave Ivar a bright smile, truly, taken by him returning her words back to him.

Eldora gently took held of her door and incline her head in a bow to him, as if to show him respect and appreciation over his words. "Thank you..." She said to him and watched him drag his body to the great hall, Eldora hoped that there paths shall cross, sometime in the near future, whether the gods shall will it or not, it was up to them. She hope maybe Ivar would warm to her over time but who knows, perhaps there is a reason, why Ivar keeps everyone expect his mother at arms length. Though ironically Eldora was similar to Ivar expect through her pain, she expresses sadness not angry, kindness not callousness. He truly is weird and yet rather wonderful at the same time in his own odd....way.

THE END
