After going with the small group the went to check out the village, Sassa was feeling a lot better about everything. She could see that this village had very little barriers and things to protect it. She had been there to hear the plan as well. To split and attack from both sides, and Sassa thought it was a very good plan. For as she that thought many times before, Ivar was very intelligent. She knew that anything he was going to come up with was going to have a lot of thought put into it. He was going to think about a lot of the different outcomes. That was just something she had learned about him being friends with his brothers over the years and talking to him every now and then too. Herself and Arngeir were going to be attacking with the group that was attacking on the left. Sassa wanted to make sure she stayed with her man, and he wanted the very same thing. So it worked out wonderfully. They started out walking toward the village, and this was when things became real for her. In a few moments she was going to be taking lives from people. She was able to be fighting people and killing them to take the things that they had worked hard for. It both excited her, and made her nervous all at the same time. She had been training for this moment from the time she was a little girl and she was ready for it.

The walking became running and before she knew it the had passed the farm area and were in the market place of the small village. A man came toward her with his sword, and she blocked him with her shield before turning to the side and stabbing her sword throw the mans neck. Grunting as she pulled her sword out, Sassa watched for only a moment as the body hit the ground and his blood started to poor onto the ground before she turned and kept moving on. Fighting alongside her Arngeir was something like a thrill to her, and by the time she had killed at least five people, the guilt that she had been feeling for taking other peoples lives was slowly washing away from her. She was starting to find this all so thrilling and exciting to her. The adrenaline was pumping in and out of her body, and although some of the gruesome deaths were making her stomach feel sick at times, Sassa made sure to push throw it all.

She made sure to be ready, to block attacks before quickly moving around to kill. Hardly looking over to Arngeir anymore at this point, for she knew he was there. Helping her when she needed it, or someone was giving her more trouble then she had thought they were going to give her. Sassa had just yanked her sword out of someones back before she looked up and her eyes locked with Arngeir's for the first time in a while. "I love you" she says to him before turing to the side and blocking an attack. This was the first time she had never said it to him. Sure she had told him she was falling in love with him, but this was the first actual time she had said those three words out loud to him. However she felt it all the time. She felt so many things at this moment, but she felt her love for him more. Fighting together like this, protecting one another was such a show for how much they cared for each other. At least to her it was, it was so much all at once. "So fucking much." she says to him next as she watches him kill the man he had been fighting. He was so very strong, and she loved watching him show that off like he was right now.

After the little scout they had it became clear that this village didn’t have to much defences. So it would be easy to penetrate and they wouldn’t be spotted till they actually were close bye or even in the village and by then it would already be too late. Because they would have the advantage of the surprise. That and the way one of the brothers has come up with a solid plan. A very nice constructed one of attacking the village from two sides. What would make the surprise even bigger and of course the chaos. Especially if one group came a bit later than the other. But he did not have a say in it. It was Ivar’s plan and the brothers and all of them would follow it. He was a smart one, high intelligence for sure and he might prove just how good he was in combat and strategy today. Just like his love would be able to prove herself in how good she had become. He looked at Sassa from the corner of his eye. Happy to be able to stay by her side today. After all he did want to see what she was capable of in a real battle. He had fought her enough to know she was able to take care of herself. But still being in a training and being in a real fight were two different things and then taking someone’s life was another.

And even if she was skilled enough to take care of herself, you never knew when a more skilled warrior came up. And then he would be right there to make sure that one got out of her way. Though he did not expect too much from this village. After all… no defences. Didn’t look to promising, seemed like this would be an easy pick and an easy raid. So how much stuff could really go wrong? Still he would not underestimate anyone. That were his thoughts as the group walked closer and closer. Just coming to a stop to look at the possible ways to go. Discussing it, before charging forward.

As always a second started to slow down as the men called out and started to run towards the village. Running through the streets screaming in anger or excitement. Weapons ready. Mud from the ground flying up from their heavy steps as their screams started to mix with those of the inhabitants of the village. Screams of horror as woman and children started to run. Others taking up some kind of defence and charging back at them. But the stream of wild Vikings seemed to just bush through every little fly that came at them. Though not soon after they seemed to have gotten to the market place. More men came towards them. Armed men and once who weren’t as easy to just push aside. The battle seemed to have truly started to take it place. His eyes moved to Sassa as she was still close by his side. He watched as she defended herself, and made her first kill. It was a strange feeling he got. Somewhere feeling proud of what she had done. But he did not have much time to think about that and soon his focus moved back to the battle.

And just as the second had lasted a life time, suddenly everything seemed to move faster than ever. Averting his eyes away from his love he looked at a man charging towards him with an axe. It cut through the air towards him from his left side. Tough his reflexes were quick and he blocked the attack with his own ask. Only to then take out his dagger and slam it through the man his eyes. Hearing him scream. The blood running over his dagger into his hand as he slit it deeper into the man his skull. To then brutally pull it back and slam the bode to the ground with his axe. Turning around to face another opponent. A big heavy guy who charged right at him with a big hammer. He had to bring his axe up to his chest as there was not much time to do much else. Finding himself incapable to avoid the charge he had to take the hit. The force of the blow made sure to push the air out of his lungs and he could feel himself slide back in the mud. But that moment did give him time to take a quick look at his love. She was still safe. ‘Good.’ He thought as he felt the force move from him. The man moving up his hammer. Only to bring it back down in a fast manner. But quick enough Argneir turned on his feet. Getting behind the man and slamming his own axe down in the man’s head. Again an efficient kill. Blood splat up into his face.

That only drove his excitement and as the battle seemed to rage down he took opponent after opponent. The weak ones went quickly, the tough ones went as well. Before he knew it he had already made his sixth kill. He took a breath as he blocked another attack. Staring in his opponent eyes he smirked. This one was putting up quite the fight. Stepping back a bit he avoided the quick attacks and blocked some. Soon having a pause as his and his opponent weapon locked. Pushing closer to each other. It was then he heard his love’s voice. ”I love you.” He could hear it clear and loud even in this destruction. A smile creeped on his lips as he locked eyes with her. "So fucking much." He let out a chuckle and at ones as if her words had giving him a power boost. He stepped back from the man and slit his throat with a quick blow. Watching the blood run out into the ground, before the body fell. He turned around and moved closer to Sassa. Warping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer. ”I will try to remember it.” He said a bit teasingly but in fact he would never forget it. It was the first time she said it to him and it really felt like she just had breathed new life into him. Even in this place, time,… somewhere you did not expect it. It… no it had more effect because it was here and now. He looked in her eyes and gave her a quick but passionate kiss. To then look up and move her behind her blocking an attack from an farmer it seemed. Now standing with his back against her. He pushed the man back. Into some other people from their group, giving them the pleasure of taking him on. As he flipped his axe in the air and looked back at her, giving her a soft smile. ”I love you too.”

PostSubject: Re: × Into the storm [Arngeir] × Into the storm [Arngeir] EmptyMon Jan 15, 2018 10:00 pm

Sassa watched as Arngeir let out a laugh at her confession to him before he slit the man he had been fighting neck and made his way closer to her. He had blood all over him, from his face to his feet. Sassa never thought he could have been more attractive to her then he was in this moment. He felt like power was coming off of him in waves, and the adrenaline that was still running through every part of her body loved him even more in this moment. Her love wraps his arm around her, and it was like they weren't in the middle of a raid for a moment as she looks into his eyes and smiles. ”I will try to remember it.” Arngeir says to her as he pulls Sassa closer to his body. He was teasing her, and it makes her let out a light laugh at his words. "You better" she tells him with a grin as she looks at him longer. As he leaned in to kiss her Sassa stood up on her toes so she could meet him halfway. The kiss he give her is short, but full of love. She makes sure to pour just as much love into her kiss back before he pulls away from her. What happened next, happened very fast. One minute she was in her loves arms, and kissing him. The next she was behind him and ready to fight to protect him once more. Like her concentration was never broken.

She was now behind him and watching as he went to attack someone who looked to be a farmer that had tried to surprise them in their moment. Sassa watched as he pushed the man away from them and into a group of other vikings that were here with them. ”I love you too.” Arngeir says to her next as he looks at her over his shoulder. It makes Sassa's heart race and beat faster as she smiled at him. The man she was in love with, the man she had given her everything to, and would give even more to she was sure. "I will try to remember it" she says to him repeating his words at him with a smile little smirk on her face. Giving him a little teasing of her own. "Keep that in mind later when we are done here, save some energy for me" she says to him before grabbing his butt smiling and then letting go. Making sure that her meaning was very clear if her words had not been. She had every intention of enjoying her man after all the raiding was over and they had won this village for their queen.

Stepping to the side and away from him when she saw a few more people coming their way, she pulled an axe out. One of the men that was coming towards her was almost twice her size, but she didn't back down. Sassa raised her shield the moment he brought down his sword toward her. Making his sword get stuck in the shield as she moved backward and threw him forward. Moving as fast as she could to stick her axe into his skull. Blood sprayed all over her face and hair as she yanked it back out and looked toward Arngeir who was still fighting off one of the men. Kicking the now dead man over she got her shield back from his sword before she stood up and ran over to help him fight the two men that were fighting him at once. She wanted to help him so she raised her axe and hit one of them in the arm. Making him turn toward her and swing. Sassa, moved out of the way, but got a small cut on her left arm before throwing her axe into his face. She watched as he stopped moving in slow motion, before he fell forward and onto the ground. Imbedding her axe into his head, and making her lose it.

Pissed about her axe, she pulled to her sword before looking toward Angrier."Come on, lets go deeper into the market." she says to him before smiling and starting to run forward. She hoped he was following after. Sassa felt the blood running down her arm, but her mind was on everything else but her small cut at the moment. They still had a lot to work to do to take over the village, plus she hadn't seen any of the brothers in a while. Sassa sent a small prayer to the gods that they were okay, and that they were killing as many people as her and her love were killing at this moment.

× Into the storm [Arngeir] Empty
PostSubject: Re: × Into the storm [Arngeir] × Into the storm [Arngeir] EmptyFri Feb 02, 2018 11:08 am

He couldn’t help the amused feeling falling over him. He had to admit that he had worried about his love at first. After all it was her first raid and it could be dangerous and he did not want to see her get hurt. He would rage out if she got hurt. But then she was doing fine on her own and he was close by to protect her. But he was also amused at her comment of him trying to remember it. He really had the feeling Sassa grew bolder by the day and he couldn’t say he didn’t like it. After all she was able to say what she wanted to say, what she thought and he believed everyone needed to be able to do that. What was life worth otherwise if you even could spill what you wanted to say? He really saw her grow every day in the person he believed she truly was and with every passing day he also thought she grew more and more beautiful. Especially now with blood over her, a wild and jet loving look in her eyes as the scene around them was just true terror for most. Terror and excitement.

The moment his love repeated his words to him he gave her a little nudge. How mean she could be. To play with him like that. But then he did believe he deserved that one. After all he had teased her first. So it was normal that he got a payback for it now. He stared at her smirking face. Oh he kind of wanted to pay her back for that look. Make sure he could be the one smirking like that. And he would if they weren’t in the middle of a battle field. He would make sure that her cheeks would burn a bright red and that she might even become a little bit shy again. But! As she spoke again he realised that maybe he wouldn’t see the shy Sassa again. "Keep that in mind later when we are done here, save some energy for me" She said before grabbing his ass as she then turned to get into the fighting again. A laugh came out his mouth as he flipped his axe a bit in an happy and amused mood. Well seemed she had just make sure he had energy for a thousand. And he would always have energy for her. Especially when she was going to reward him for it.

He turned to a man that attacked him blocking his attack and getting in his face. ”Here that? I’m going to get laid tonight.” He smirk smiled a bit. That meant he couldn’t afford to lose one battle. The man seemed a bit confused at his words and was therefore really easy to take down. A fast push back and a sweep of his axe and his face was split in half. He couldn’t help that he felt as if he just had started the battle. New life had been blown into him. Sassa really knew how to motivate a man didn’t she. Though she probably didn’t even notice it. But he did and he was going to make sure he came back to her in one piece tonight. If this raid was a success they would have a real feast and he was looking forward to it. Though he soon enough moved his attention back to the fighting. The enemies seemed to get cut down like trees. And they were starting to flee leaving most of their own in the streets. It was then that he looked upon Sassa as she spoke. "Come on, let’s go deeper into the market." He gave her a nod and a grin. As he then followed behind her in a light jog. Making sure they weren’t attacked in this moment.

The market seemed as a promising place especially now that the groups were more divided. It wasn’t one group of people. People were everywhere and most didn’t seem to notice one another. Doing each there own thing. A lot of villagers were running for their lives and it seemed as if this would be a smooth victory. He moved closer to Sassa as he let his eyes go over the market place. Narrowing his eyes a bit at a few people seeming to run in one street. Some of their own following them. And soon enough the grunts and shouting’s came out. He recognised those sounds. Whoever was coming closer into the market placer weren’t just farmers or normal villagers. Those sounds came from worriers and to the sound of it, they were well skilled. His first intention would be to look it out. After all the market was starting to run empty as their worries were hunting down those who were running away. There was nothing much for them to do here, he would if he was alone. The narrow street would give some advantage as well if he used it well. But he had his love he needed to protect. ”Let’s go.” He said to her. It sounded like a large group and he personally didn’t want to get involved in that if they were just with this small group here. He rather move back closer to where more of their own had run of too.

× Into the storm [Arngeir] Empty
PostSubject: Re: × Into the storm [Arngeir] × Into the storm [Arngeir] EmptyFri Feb 02, 2018 6:37 pm

Sassa just couldn't contain herself and the way she was feeling. She had never felt like this at all in her life, so free and bold. However the longer she was out her and the more she killed and over came people then more powerful she felt. The more free, and alive she felt as well. Sassa had spent so much of her life being controlled by her mother that everything new to her was so exciting and amazing. She was finally able to raid, and if she was honest with herself, she was doing so much better then she had thought she was going to do during all of this. She had only gotten one cut so far, and it wasn't even anything deep at all. So far her and her man had been making an amazing team as well. Something that made her so very happy, that they were able to fight so well together like this. So because she was feeling so amazing, she was being very bold with Arngeir. Telling him she loves him, teasing him, and even smacking his ass and promising him sex later. She had seen and heard his amusement, so she was glad that he liked the way she was acting.Sassa hoped he would still like her now that she was feeling more bold and free. That the more she explored this new side of herself he would still want to be with her.

Hearing the words that fell from her lovers mouth as they both fought people off made her laugh. ”Here that? I’m going to get laid tonight.” he says to the man before he kills him. "Thats right, you will be." she says in return as she finishes off her own man. Looking around she can see people everywhere. Dead and alive, all over the ground and streets of this village. The street and walls of the buildings were painted red and brown. With blood and mud, and it was something she had never seen before in her life. It was interesting and a little shocking sight to see. However she had to stop herself from looking around even more when she sees a small child dead on the ground. Sassa sent a slight prayer to the gods that the child went to a safe place as she shook her head and tried not to think about it. She almost wishes she hadn't looked around for she suddenly felt thrown off. Like she couldn't believe that they would kill children, but in reality they were killing anything and everyone in their paths. Looking around more she looks towards streets that led deeper into the village and called out to her lover to come on.

As she moved deeper she heard Arngeir right behind her, so she wasn't too worried about anything. So far they had been doing well together, and Sassa had faith that they would keep doing well. As long as she kept the face of the dead child she had seen out of her mind. ”Let’s go.” she hears him say to her and she looks at him and nods her head as she follows after him closely. He was the one who had been out here before. He was the one who had raided before, and she knew that her lover knew what was best. So she would trust him with her life, very much like she already did. "Lead the way my love." she says to him first with a smile and follows after him."I trust you with my life, so you are in charge." she says to him next and she sticks her sword into a person who had been trying to attack her from a door way. Getting yet anther cut, but on her side. At least she was lucky enough that the cuts hadn't been too deep so far. However once this was all over she was going to need to seen a healer. For the cut she now had on her side stung just a bit, even if the one on her arm didn't hurt too badly. Sassa just hoped she wasn't going to keep getting hurt like this,or she was going to get a lot of ugly scars on her body. "The faster we end this, the sooner I am yours again however." she teases him once more as she sees him fighting more.

Moving once again away from the market and into another street he looked back at his love. So far she had been doing fabulous in this raid. A real shield maiden if he could say so. Even though she hadn’t earned the name officially jet. She sure had the spirit of one and teasing him. Well teasing about what would come after the raid was something he was looking forward to. So he did hope both of them could get out of this one without too much injuries. Of course some cuts here and there were normal as long as they were not fatal he would be thankful to the gods. Especially for his love as of course he knew he could stand her own but still was somewhere worried about her. After all he did not want to see her get hurt and he was here if she needed to be protected. He looked back at her and saw how her gaze laid on a dead child. He frowned for a second as he himself would never harm a child, not even in a raid. Because he believed that children were still innocent and had the right to grow up. Even had the right to one day maybe seek revenge on the murders of their parents. But not everyone saw it that way. He could see how she seemed to be thrown off by it. And of course as soon as she called out he moved towards her, following into her footsteps till he was right behind her. Not only because he knew that the chock might be getting to her now, as it was her first raid. But also because he felt that the air around them seemed to be changing.

Just an unsettling feeling he had, as if something was about to happen. Though he tried to throw it off. What bad thing could happen to them in this village? After all they were just farmers… He groaned a bit and looked back slightly, as the fighting was raging on it might be time to set off by themselves to see what they could find of treasure. He looked back to his love when she told him to lead the way and he gave her a smile. He moved besides her as soon he was in front of her and listened to her words. "I trust you with my life, so you are in charge." It made him stop for a second and turn to her. He looked into her eyes and soon had a hand on the back of her head as he pulled her closer and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead. Before he turned around and started to walk again, into one of the side streets. He did want to show her that raiding was more than just killing so he would go into a few houses and they could see what they would find and here in the side streets not many people were present so they would be able to look around till their hearts were full of it. "The faster we end this, the sooner I am yours again however." He laughed as he then quickly blocked an attack of a guy who had been hiding himself around the corner. Knowing he was now no longer safe it seemed he wanted to at least defend himself. However he made quick work of it and drove his sword through his chest. Killing him immediately.

He looked down at the man and whipped of his sword on the man clothes as he then mentioned with a nod to Sassa to follow. As he soon kicked down a door of one of the houses. He moved inside having a defensive stance to see if anyone was in here. But it seemed the people who had been living here had already left. Or they were hiding. With quick steps but silent once he moved further into the house. At first it seemed like a normal one. But even normal houses could hold treasures. After making sure no one was inside he started to look through it. Pulling down curtains and even breaking down some cabinets or opening up some planks laying down on the ground. He was sure it was clear to Sassa he was looking for something useful, something valuable. And as soon as he went into the bedroom some other thoughts went through his mind. But he shook it off, even though it would be really fun to do it here and now. So exciting. He knew he would have to wait and a box standing behind the bed seemed to promise some jewels at the very least. Maybe there would be something in it that fit Sassa. He was about to open it as soon he could hear voices. Not just a few but it sounded like a big group and… it didn’t sound like they were on their side. With narrowed eyes he moved to the window, looking carefully as he saw a group of ‘warriors’ coming up. ‘Shit.’ Was the only thing he could think as he turned and went back to where Sassa was. Without a word he grabbed her arm and pulled her closer. ”I need you to hide.” His gaze was tense and serious. His words had been harsh but, he had seen that group it was not a small one and the men did not look like just farmers. At least there were some that could fight and could fight well. It was just him and her and he feared that if they found them… Well it wouldn’t be an easy fight and he wasn’t sure if they would come out alright. So now his mind went from the warrior to the ‘husband’ and he wanted to make sure he protected her. So he needed her to be invisible as he planned to lead the group away, lead them back to where more Vikings from Kattegat were. Were they would not have to face them alone. And as bad as it sounded in his mind now he couldn’t do that with a Thegn next to him.

she would be lying to herself if she didn't say seeing that dead child change things for her. It made this all seem so much more real. They had come to this place and were killing the people here because they wanted their things. She herself would never hurt a child, but someone in her group had. Someone here fighting with her had taken a small and innocent life without a second thought, and the thought of that alone was slightly frighting. Was she going to become like them someday? Sassa hoped not, she never wanted to be someone who could easily take a small person life. They had so much left in this world that they could have offered. However they were gone now, they would never grow older to see and learn new thighs. That child would never get married or have children of their own, and that bugged her more then she wanted to admit. Sassa knew that this was how raiding went, that this was something she worked for her entire life. Nonetheless, she promised herself the she would never be someone to hurt children. She would never take a life of someone who had so much more to live for. Even if they were trying to come at her with a weapon, she would find a way to knock them out without killing them. Sassa would be a raider, but she would not become a monster from this.

Things were going so fast, the killings were happening more and more. It had been easy for her at first, and even exciting if she was honest. However the more she was thinking about it, the more real it was getting. She was killing people fathers, husbands, sons. These were people with real feelings and lives, and she was ending all of that for her queen. Taking a deep breath Sassa pushed all of that away, and did her best to lock those feelings into a deep part of her brain. Somewhere she could come back to and handle all theses feelings when she wasn't in the middle of fighting people and trying to keep her life and the life of her lover. Arngeir needed her to be on her game and fighting with him. Besides part of her, the part that ignored her feelings still very much enjoyed a lot of how raiding went. If she never saw that child she wouldn't even be thinking twice about what she was doing right now in the first place. Sassa smiles when Arngeir pulls her closer for a moment and kisses her head. It just helps her fight those feelings away even more, knowing he was here for her and he was counting on her. Plus she also knew he was proud of her and all her hard work she did to get here.

As they moved further into he village, she watched as her lover went toward some of the houses. He kicked the door down and made his way inside, Sassa made sure to stay close behind. "Are we just looking for anything at all?" she asks him as she sees him looking around the house and trying to find things. She was sure they were looking for things like jewels or gold in general. So Sassa slowly started to look around the house too. Finding a gold neckless with some small sparkling gems on it. So she shoves it into her pocket and looks around some more. That is until she hears her lovers voice. ”I need you to hide.” he tell her and Sassa give him a strange look in return. His voice had been so much more harsh then he had ever been to her before, and it lets her know that he's not kidding. "What do you mean I need to hide?" she demand of him first, her voice showing that she is clearly annoyed with him commanding her to do something like that. However Sassa then hears what it had to have been to make him want to make her hide in the first place.

From the sounds of it a large group of people were coming their way. They were not her fellow fighters as well, she could tell that from the way they sounded and were talking. Sassa gives him a dirty look and shakes her head at him before slowly walking forward and giving him a deep kiss and pulling away. "I'm not one bit happy with you, and you better hide too" she whispers at him before he moves away and open a closet and goes inside. Shutting herself into it and making sure to have her breathing be sallow. Sassa felt weak and like a coward all at once standing in this closet, but she also knew her lover knew what he was doing. Clearly he thought that they couldn't take them all on by themselves. So as much as she was mad and annoyed, and her feelings were slightly hurt, she had missed to him. She was hiding like he told her to do, Sassa just hoped it wasn't going to bite her in the end. That he wasn't going to get hurt.

He could not say with how much they would be, but listening to the sound they made he guessed it was quite a group that had packed together. Smart of course, in group and sticking together made you stronger than being on your own. This place had been so chaotic that most men even didn’t think of sticking together making the fighting fierce but better on their side. But it seemed their enemies had seen the light, or at least someone had been smart enough to actually form a group. His eyes stood hard as he watched Sassa, he could not risk her getting involved in such a fight jet. She was skilled but he feared that this was still a pitch above her level and even if he was sorry to say it he would not risk a fight either. A group against two of them well that could turn out badly. Especially because they could corner them. They also had the advantage because they knew this place better then well them both. So a surprise could be quick to follow. He also could see in his loves eyes that his words had not come nicely to her. Asking what he meant that she had to hide. His gaze was hard and stern. This was not a place to fight among themselves and there was little time to start one all in all. But he needed to make sure that at least she would be safe even if it meant that he had to sacrifice himself, he would do so. For as far as it went in his mind he knew the gods would protect her and keep her safe. That she had the right to live a long and wealthy life. Unlike him who had done so much wrong in his life already.

Either way he did not want her to get hurt and if he had to be truthful his heart was beating in his chest like it never had been before. He felt like he actually had fear, fear too lose her. To see her harmed. So he did hope that he could protect her. He frowned a bit and did not answer her question knowing that his words alone had been enough. He saw the dirty look in her eyes and he could feel himself tensing up. Before he relaxed just a bit at the sweet kiss she gave him. A deep one and he returned it just as heartily as he could. Before he had to smile a bit at her words. "I'm not one bit happy with you, and you better hide too" Not one bit huh. Well he did hope she would forgive him. If his head would only think of another way he would have done it. But at this moment and with the little time they had there had been just one plan that popped up. And it was risk full enough like it was. And that plan meant that he could not hide. His gaze met hers and all he could do was give her a nod. Not wanting to let his voice wander into the ears of the men that were closing in. He watched her hide in one of the closets. He watched till the door closed and then listened. Wanting to make sure it seemed as if there was no soul here. Before he took a breath and started to walk backwards.

Now his plan would be put in action and well it was a risk but if he did it well and if he knew enough about these kind of people…. Then everything should turn out like planned. He turned around soon to the door and whispered a light sorry as he then walked out. Directly getting spotted and turning to the yelling voices. He turned around and drew his axe, as the group run towards him. The street was quite narrow and well the group seemed big. Running up to him in a high speed he stood his ground. Reflecting the first blow that came with quite a big force, making his arm move down. But he soon pulled out a dagger from his side and stabbed the men in front of him in the neck. Getting a stream of blood over him, as two other men already came up. He had time enough to avoid a fatal blow. But as he avoided one hit the other had already come, cutting through his thigh. He groaned, but could not say he was unhappy with it. Strangely he knew now that it was a good moment to pretend to retreat and so he did. He pushed one man in the other as three others were waiting behind them as a backup. He turned around quickly and started to run. A sharp pain rushing through his thigh. But the adrenaline making it feel more numb than anything else. And as thought the group followed, of course they would not let a wounded enemy escape. Especially not one that was all on his own.

So his plan to lead them away from his love had at least been a success. It was unfortunate that as he turned the corner away from the street he did not see that part of the group was going around. And it was even more unfortunately that he did not see that one of them let go of a burning torch while starting to run after him. The torch first fell on the dirty ground, meaning to blush in mud. But as it bounced lightly on the earth it rolled closer to some barrels next to the house, slowly setting them a flame. As the flames grew, they reached up to the hay on the roof. And before anyone around really was aware of it the place set ablaze. This while he ran his feet slightly sinking in the mud and his heart beating in his throat. A dark look in his eyes as his blood wash rushing. Unknown that he also was running into a trap set up before him. Little did he know about the hardship yet to come.

She was now in the closet and annoyed with the entire situation. That her man wanted her to hide and she had no idea what was going to happen next. That he maybe thought she was too weak to help him out, and that was why he had mad her hide in the first place. Sassa loves Arngeri, but at this moment she was just plain mad. Sure it was her first raid, but that didn't mean she needed to hide like all the people in this village were doing. That didn't mean the was weak and she couldn't handle this like he could. She had seen a child dead on the ground and kept going like she hadn't seen it at all. So surely that had to mean something? That she was strong and that he didn't need to think he needed to do this on his own. Sassa just hoped he had hid away in the house as well. Scared that he would do something stupid and leave her here while he tried to take them all on, on his own. She loved him and she would want to do that with him. Even if it meant they were going to die. At least she would die together with him and not while hiding to something stupid.

Sassa wasn't sure how long she had been in the closet just listening, it had been hard to hear just about anything from her spot, but she did to her best to to try. To try and hear what was going on outside of the little space she had been stuck in. Her legs were starting to get sore, and deciding that it had been quiet long enough she pushed the door open just a bit. Suddenly everything wasn't as quiet as it had been just before. She could hear the scary sound of something familiar to her. The sound of flames, and fire. Pushing the door open more she was greeted to the most frighting sight she had ever seen. The sight of fire, and it coming closer to her. "Arngeir!" she found herself calling out for him without even thinking. Was he hiding in here with her? Had the flames gotten to her lover? How long had the house she was in been on fire? So many questions were flying in and out of her mind as she stood frozen in fear trying to figure out wha too do next.

Looking around her eyes searched for something to help fight back the flames. something to help her get over to the window or door. So she could get outside of this burning building, and she wouldn't be burned alive on her first raid, "ARNGERI" she screamed again, but when she heard nothing she knew she need to push on and find a way out. hopefully he was not in this burning nightmare that she found herself in, hopefully the love of her life was alive. Spotting a pot of water she make her way over to it. Throwing it on the flames a bit to get to the window before she pushes it open. It was a small window and even though she was skinny, there was no way she would get out without help from someone else on the outside pulling her out as well. So when she stuck her head out coughing from all the smoke, Sassa screamed for help. "HELP" she said as loud as she could as she pulled herself up to the window and tried to do it herself.

As she fought with trying to get out of the window she felt the most horrible pain take over her back. Using her hand she pushed the object that had fallen on her off, and burned her hand as well a bit in the process. "HELP ME" she tires again as the pain takes over her and she screams a bit, tying not to puke and pass out all at the same time. It was just then that the gods blessed her and she spotted someone she knew."THORA!" she screamed as loudly as she could between the sobs that were taking over her body. Here she was, stuck in a window of a burning building, her back had been caught on fire, and Sassa was almost certain she might die here. All she wanted to do was go raiding, to make a name for herself. Not to die in a fire.

Thora is having the time of her life. There's no need for shield walls, not here, not when their enemy is so disorganized and scattering before them like leaves on the wind. She's part of a loose group of about half a dozen warriors. They're not packed together, more like just sort of vaguely within earshot, sort of keeping an eye out in case someone gets overwhelmed. It's Thora's favorite way to fight, because it feels like freedom, like dancing. Her shield is strapped over her back, sword in her right hand and axe in her left, and it feels so natural to fight with just weapons and without the burden of her shield. She's light and quick, she's always felt like she fights better without her shield. One of the young shieldmaidens, one Thora had trained a bit in Kattegat, rounds a corner into three waiting foes, and Thora is quick to jump to her aid with a shriek like a banshee. Her axe flashes silver in the sun before lodging itself in one's neck, she yanks it free and a second later slices her sword viciously toward another's belly. The other girl has killed her foe, and Thora nudges her elbow against the other's arm in a reassuring, good-job type gesture.

The sounds of fighting have moved a bit, and the two of them jog toward the nearby sounds of yelling and clashing blades. The younger girl scoots ahead of her, and Thora hears the sound of a building burning nearby but doesn't even bother looking around to find the source of the sound. Such things happen during raids, she thinks nothing of it. A Hjortdal fighter rushes at her from a dark alley, Thora is feeling positively cheerful as she swings her sword up to meet his. At least from her end, the raid is going rather well. She lost sight of Ubbe a while ago, but she's confident he can handle himself, and she's looking forward to exchanging their tales of triumph later, huddled up in the belly of the ship. She doesn't know that Bjorn is here, doesn't know that he and Ubbe have been fighting, that the raid seems to be falling apart at the seams. All she sees is fighting going well for Kattegat, and she's happy.

She's just swinging her axe toward her enemy's chest when Sassa is screaming her name, and it's full of such pain and terror that it's actually enough to make her slow her killing-blow. The axe skitters across the man's leather-clad chest, and he's leering at her as he swings his sword in a bone-crushing arc toward her arm. She manages to dance just far enough out of the way that the blow doesn't cause any lasting damage, probably, but the force of it still numbs her hand and sends her sword tumbling to the bloody ground. She's furious, knows she has to kill this man so she can find Sassa and help her. She throws her axe and leaves it embedded in the man's skull, she'll retrieve it later. He hasn't even hit the ground before she's whirling, picking up her sword in fingers that are still tingling and painful but at least no longer numb, and her wide green eyes are scanning frantically for Sassa. She sees her, skinny waist stuck in a window and smoke billowing around her, and Thora is cursing to herself as she runs over, fast as her legs can carry her.

"I got you, I got you, you're fine!" Thora is muttering, furious and insistent, trying not to let the fear in Sassa's eyes get to her. She's a warrior first and a friend second, she can and will save Sassa. "Is there anyone else in there with you?" She knows that later, when the adrenaline wears off, she'll need pints and pints of ale to drown this moment and let her sleep, but right now she's convinced everything will be fine. She grabs Sassa under the armpits and pulls with all her might, trying her best to drown out the roar of the flames and Sassa's screams. She grits her teeth, digs her heels into the ground and pushes her toes against the base of the house, and lunges up and away. She puts all the strength she can muster into that one movement, grunting with the effort, and feels Sassa slide out of the window. Once the widest part of her hips is through, she shoots out rather easily, and the force of Thora's thrust is enough to get her a few feet away from the building.

Thora winds up on her back, hitting hard enough that the breath leaves her with an audible whoosh, and the house trembles dangerously above her, teetering and groaning, support beams weakened by the flames. Thora barely has the wits left to curl into a ball and throw her arms over her head as the whole structure comes crashing down, and everything is a chaos of roaring flames and the distant sound of screaming. Thora is dazed, completely buried under rubble, but she attempts to move and finds that she can scrabble around a bit. She kicks and claws, trying to scratch her way into clean air, into a view that isn't blocked, but there's a cut on her forehead and blood dripping into her eyes, and she can't reach up to clear her view. In the roaring of the flames she swears she can hear the beating of a Valkyrie's wings, and that makes her fight even harder to free herself. She can't go to Valhalla if she doesn't fight until her last breath.

The pain was growing at an unbearable rate, and if Throa didn't hear her Sassa was almost sure she was going to die here in this window. Burned to death on her very first raid, surly she wasn't going to get into Valhalla for such a pathetic death as this. However her luck is turning, as she sees her friend, someone who can maybe help her, running towards her."I got you, I got you, you're fine!" she hears Thora say and she just shakes her head. She wasn't fine at all. "I'm not, just get me out of here please!" she cries out at her. "Is there anyone else in there with you?" she hears her say next and Sassa screams and cries more. "I don't know, Arngeri was here, he made me hide because a group of men came and we were out numbered. He could be dead. The whole building is on fire in here" Sassa cries out next before pain takes over her again. Her back was going to be burned horrible if she lived through all this, and her heart was going to be shattered. She meets the love of her life, and he very well could be burned to death inside. Those thoughts leave her however when she feels Throa start to pull her out.

The feel of her friend pulling her out of the window combined with the burns all over her back and hand were making her scream uncontrollably. She didn't want to scream in her friends face, but it was too much for her to handle right now. However soon she was fully out of the window and on the ground crying. The way she lands, just misses her landing fully on her back. Pushing through the pain, Sassa gets herself into a small sitting position just as she sees the building fall onto her best friend. "NO THORA!" she screams as she slowly makes her way over to the rubble of the fallen house she had just been pulled out. It was her fault, her fault her friend was under this. Fighting through the pain the best she could, Sassa starts to pull at what she can. "THORA!" she screams again as she pulls and yanks. Falling forward from the pain she screams out again tears clouding her eyes as she pushes herself back up on shaky arm and pulls at the parts of the building.

Sassa couldn't lose her lover and her best friend the same day, she just couldn't. She wouldn't no what to do, most likely kill herself at this rate. Both deaths would be her fault. Because she wanted to go on this raid so badly, but she was inexperienced. ""HELP PLEASE" she screams next as she shakily moves something to the side, and hopefully off where Thora was. Sassa can tell she is shaking more then she is actually moving things, but she doesn't give up as she pulls and pushes. She keeps pushing through even when she leans over to the side and pukes. The pain, plus the constant nauseous feeling she had been dealing with for days making her do so. "UBBE, HVITSERK, ANYONE PLEASE" she screams again. Before she manages to get another small piece out from the pile. "Thora, I promise you I'll get you out. I promise" she says as she pull and pulls.

More and more tears are falling, but she doesn't let it stop her at all. "I wont lose you, I wont lose you" she says next before her arms slip forward again, and she cries out once more. Running on nothing but pure adrenaline at the moment, adrenaline that was slowly running out on her at that. "Please gods please, let me get her out. Don't let her die" she says last as she pull more and more things away.
